Not long ago I belonged to some "Candle of the Month" program just to get their gourmet scented candles at wholesale. Each and every month I’d get a new fragrance delivered right to my door. Those candles were to DIE for. The scent throw filled an entire room with fragrance and that was without even lighting the darn things! I’d light one up in the living room and within minutes I could smell it all the way down the hallway and into the bedrooms. I’d always get comments on how nice my house smelled.

But for crying out loud, it was costing me over $50 a month for membership! Hey, don’t get me wrong, the products were good, but so horribly over-priced. Plus, it was a waste of money if I didn’t like the fragrance that month. I had to blow the flame out on that deal and told them NO MORE!

Long story short, I figured out how to make my OWN gourmet scented candles – just like those expensive ones. I’ll let you in on a little secret, IT AIN’T ROCKET SCIENCE! Here, take a look and see how your own candles will compare to theirs.

And here’s the best part. I was able to buy all the equipment I needed for right around what I was paying for one month in the that Candle of the Month program! My way of making candles just doesn’t come any easier or cheaper. You won’t be spending extra money on additives or mold release and best of all, no specialized training whatsoever. Oh yea, you won’t be needing "an artist’s eye" to make stunning candles with beautiful crystal patterns, yet your friends will wonder how in the world you did it!

That expensive candle from a fancy boutique at the mall was heavenly, but couldn’t smell a thing when you lit it? It happens all the time due to inferior fragrance oils, skimping on fragrance, or using wax that can’t possibly hold any significant amount of fragrance. Waxes are not all the same and not all wax can hold a high scent load!

You may not see it after just a few times, but after months of burning petroleum-based candles soon your walls and ceiling will be covered in black soot. Don’t believe me? Wash a section and find out. Better yet, don’t wash it or you end up having to wash the entire room because now you’ll have a clean spot in the middle of a dirty wall! That doesn’t happen with the candles I make.

And my #1 pet peeve, those candles that tunnel straight down the middle and won’t burn anymore because the wick can’t get enough oxygen. What a waste of wax. That just burns me!

As a retail consumer without shipping, it costs $3 to get a Mia Bella votive, $1.99 for a Yankee Candle votive and $1.87 for a Gold Canyon votive. I did an ounce per ounce comparison of votive candles from Mia Bella, Gold Canyon and mine. My candle factors in wax, fragrance, dye, and a wick. My price may vary slightly from batch to batch, depending upon the materials suppliers used, but this is a VERY REALISTIC price comparison. If anything, my pricing is on the conservatively high end. Check out the difference.

WOW! Look at the markup on those votives! I can make over eight, YES, EIGHT votives for the price of one Mia Bella candle. And if I shop a little more wisely for materials, I could get that .19/oz price even lower.

Because I don’t have commissions to pay out on multiple levels like some company does

Well, let me just cut to the chase. It is so amazingly cheap and easy to make your own gourmet scented candles that I wrote…
